It all started with me trying a recipe.They say a journey of many steps start with one step. I always loved baking but I never took it seriously. COVID 19 hit us and there was lockdown, work rotations were introduced at my workplace and I found myself idle in weeks I was not supposed to work. Going to the shops to buy bread around lockdown was so scary. Only a few people were allowed in the shop. The feeling pushed me to start baking my own bread and scones.
A friend of mine visited me and we decided to bake. I baked scones and she taught me biscuits. I always had the desire to know how to make crispy biscuits. The biscuits came out very delicious. I tried the recipe and posted on my WhatsApp and that’s how orders started coming through. The demand grew from boosting my post on Instagram. I got a lot of support from family, Colleagues and friends.
Ntlami’s Bakings was established in 2021 during lockdown as a side hustle and weekend passion. It has always been in me to bake whenever I travel home in Limpopo.
